Who we are
The Tennessee Child Care Resource and Referral Net-work provides resources for parents, child care professionals, employers and members of the community that support quality care for the development of Tennessee's children. Partnering with other state agencies, the CCR&R is a key component in the implementation of the STAR program. The STAR program is one component of the state's comprehensive plan to improve the quality of child care in Tennessee. The CCR&R staff provide training to educate child care providers and parents on developmentally appropriate strategies in order to provide a high level of quality child care.
 
Eligibility
All Tennessee child care providers that are licensed with the Department of Human Services, and are assessed annually, are eligibile for the services of the South Central CCR&R.
 
Funding
The South-Central CCR&R is a division of the non-profit organization, Community Development Center. Funding is provided through an agreement with the Tennessee Department of Human Services and Signal Centers, Inc. There is no charge for services given to eligible participants.
 
Advisory Board Guidance
The South-Central CCR&R is governed by an Advisory Board, comprised of a variety of stakeholders from within the community along with representatives from other agencies within the CCR&R network.

Services Provided
Parents can receive basic information about child care training in their area as well information on how to choose quality child care.
 
Parents can also receive referrals for children with disabilities or referrals for any child-related concern such as divorce, death and behavioral concerns.

Child care providers receive on-site consultations including information on health, safety, and developmentally appropriate practices.
 
They can also receive services including pre/post assessments and access to our lending library.
 
The Child Care Resource and Referral offers free training to child care providers on a variety of topics.

The Child Care Resource and Referral will help connect child care providers and parents with the appropriate community resources.
 
Center Staff
The staff includes a Program Coordinator, Health Care Consultant, Referral Specialist, and Resource & Referral Specialists. The Child Care Resource and Referral Staff work closely with the Assessment Unit Staff.
